In the afternoon:
Any student not riding a school bus home is to report to the Little Theater (sometimes called the “pick-up door”). After the buses are loaded and released, students staying for YMCA care, or an afternoon scouting activity at NPE will be dismissed. At the same time, remaining students will be escorted out the main entrance to load into the cars that pull up along the front curb after waiting in line along the north side of the lot.
The BEST PRACTICE for student pick-ups at the end of the school day is to do a “car pick-up”. Wait in line along the north end of the parking lot until our buses leave and then pull up to the front of the school for a pick-up of your child.
1. Parents picking up their children should wait in line along the north side of our parking lot.
2. Once the busses have left, a single file line of cars should pull along the curb.
3. Students will then be dismissed to the cars.
Parents wanting to pick up their child inside the building will need to report to the office at 3:30 or later and sign their child out. At that point, we will call for that child from the Theater.
Parents should not report to the Theater to pick-up a child. Students are to be released only upon the request of the office.
If someone other than a parent is to pick up a child, then authorization for that pick-up needs to be made in written form or by a phone call.
