CSCSHC announces 2018 Girls on the Run program

CSCSHC is proud to pair with Girls on the Run of Central Indiana to offer a Girls on the Run program at New Palestine.

Girls on the Run is a curriculum based, after-school youth development program designed for 3rd, 4th, and 5th-grade girls of ALL fitness and ability levels. This is the third year of the program at CSCSHC.

The 10-week curriculum helps each girl find and stay true to her REAL self. Groups of 8 to 20 girls meet twice a week with their trained volunteer coaches to discuss important life lessons while playing fun running games. Girls on the Run® emphasizes independent thinking, making healthy choices, healthy group dynamics and problem-solving.

The curriculum stresses peer support and doing your best. The program finishes with the girls running or walking in a non-competitive 5k event which will be held on May 12, 2018.

Registration is open until February 13th. The cost is $130 per child, but confidential scholarships are available for any child that needs financial support.

Girls on the Run meets Mondays and Thursdays at New Palestine Elementary from 3:45 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. starting on February 15th. The coaches for the program are Cheryl Rose, Karli Rodebeck, Laura Mitchell, and Kelsey Ulrey.

You can register for Girls on the Run at www.gotrci.org.
