I want to personally welcome you to the 2020-2021 school year. This is going to be another amazing year at Brandywine Elementary. We are evermore committed to providing the best education possible to our Brandywine Bulldogs.
Brandywine Elementary School is a special place for kids filled with warm and friendly teachers, students, parents, and staff, and I am grateful for the opportunity to be your principal. I strongly believe in working collaboratively with all stakeholders in order to continue the success that our school has worked so hard to achieve over the years. Through this collaboration, I am sure we will keep moving our students and school forward, especially as we navigate our way through these unusual times.
This building is filled with outstanding students in grades K-4. Our faculty and staff are dedicated, caring professionals, who love and support one another both as friends and colleagues. BWE is very fortunate to have a fabulous PTO who plan and organize fun activities, events, and fundraisers. They take great care of us! This group is open, approachable, creative, dedicated, and fun. They would love to have you join them. They are steadfastly committed to working together toward the success of all the children at Brandywine.
My highest priority is ensuring the safety and well-being of all students and staff. We strive to create an environment where courtesy and kindness prevail and where there is respect for other people. Teachers work hard to create an environment where every child feels valued and believes they can be successful. We have developed our Bucket Fillers initiative and staff members were trained in Trust-Based Relational Interventions to help foster a safe and positive learning environment. BWE staff and students are driven by our core values: Respect, Best Effort, Motivation, Caring, Responsibility, Initiative, Acceptance, and Self-Discipline. These are the core values that we stand behind and are the cornerstones of our beliefs.
As parents and educators, we must form a strong partnership to ensure that all of our Brandywine Bulldogs receive an exceptional education. Things will return to normal, and when they do I encourage you to participate in school activities and special occasions, as well as volunteer in your child's classroom if your schedule allows. I look forward to getting to know you this school year and many school years to come. If you have questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me by phone or email.
Mr. Austin Theobald
