Would you like to get involved with your student or their school?

Below are links to volunteer opportunities in our schools:
Southern Hancock Education Foundation (SHEd)
The Southern Hancock Education Foundation welcomes community members, parents, and staff to join the foundation board. The Board meets monthly throughout the school year on the last Thursday of the month, 6:30 PM at the Administration Office. In addition to the Board meetings, board members are active in supporting our fundraiser events like the annual Foundation Gala. Board members also represent the foundation in community and school events like the New Pal Summer Fest, the New Palestine High School Alumni Association, and a variety of school activities.
Parents and community members may also make a tax-deductible donation by visiting the SHEd page.
Helping One Student to Succeed Reading Tutoring Program
H.O.S.T.S. volunteers work one on one with two students for half an hour each one day a week. Volunteers help a 2nd-grade and 3rd-grade student each day by building their reading and writing skills. We're looking for volunteers at New Palestine Elementary and Sugar Creek Elementary. For more information, click on this flier. If you are interested in becoming a mentor, please email Teresa LeBeau at firstname.lastname@example.org or Shannon Heyde at email@example.com at SCE or Kendra Olin at NPE at firstname.lastname@example.org.
All three of our elementary schools are looking for volunteers to help out in our school libraries and media centers. CSCSHC elementary schools have a wonderful reading program with a tremendous amount of teacher, students, and family involvement. To support our student reading goals, help is needed in the following areas:
- Re-shelving books
- Keeping the library shelves tidy
- Helping students find books
- Working on displays (occasionally)
If you are interested in volunteering at NPE, please contact NPE's Media Center Director Michelle Simon at (317) 861-5287 or email@example.com. If you would like to volunteer at Brandywine, please contact Brandywine Media Services Coordinator Carole Wintin at (317) 462-7396 or firstname.lastname@example.org. Sugar Creek Elementary's Media Center Director is Melissa Martin. Contact Mellisa at email@example.com or (317) 861-6747.
Thank you so much for considering being part of our team!
