Registration/Enrollment

 

Welcome to Southern Hancock! We are excited you are interested in becoming a part of our school family!

Enrollment for new families is now open for 23-24 school year:

If you are unsure what school your child is assigned to, please contact Amber Rush at arush@newpal.k12.in.us for assistance.

Students must be 5 years of age on or before August 1, 2023 to attend Kindergarten during the 2023-2024 school year.

Please plan to bring the following items with you to enroll your student:

  • Birth Certificate
  • Immunization Records
  • Driver's License or State Issued Photo ID Card with current address
  • Lease/Rental Agreement, Mortgage Statement, Real Estate Deed, or Property Tax Statement with current address
  • Please bring one of the following as a 3rd verifier of residency:  Paycheck/Paystub, Tax Return, Utility Bill, Insurance Statement/Bill, or Vehicle Title/Registration

Please DO NOT use the new student enrollment link above if your child is currently enrolled in our Little Dragons Preschool or Pre-Kindergarten Program. If your child is currently enrolled in the Southern Hancock Schools or previously enrolled in our school district, please contact arush@newpal.k12.in.us for enrollment instructions.

Out of District Families:

CSCSHC is now accepting applications for the 2023-2024 school year.  You must submit an Out of District Packet and receive approval from the Superintendent. You cannot complete any other student registration until your application is approved.

NOTE: Due to an expansion of the district's Little Dragons early childhood program and the creation of the Tiny Dragons staff daycare at New Palestine Elementary, NPE will be closed for out of district applications for 2023-2024.

Little Dragons Pre-Kindergarten:

Enrollment in Pre-Kindergarten for the 2023-24 school year is currently open! Visit our Little Dragons page to learn about our early childhood program for 3-year-olds and 4-year-olds.

Returning Students:

PowerSchool is not open at this time for returning families to confirm their information and pay school fees for 2023-24. Notification will be sent out to our current families once this process has begun. Schedules will then be available for students in grades 7-12. Students in grades K-6 will find out who their teacher is at our back to school events.

Parents must log in to their Powerschool Parent Portal account to complete all necessary forms related to their students. After logging in, click on Forms on the left side menu. Under forms, click on Enrollment. Forms C-F must be completed for every student. Form A contains all contact information for you and any other PowerSchool contacts. Please double-check this information for everyone listed as a contact for your student.

To pay your school fees, on the left side menu, click on eFund All families who pay their fees before August 3 will not be charged a convenience fee. For families seeking assistance in paying their school fees, see Form F in the PowerSchool forms.

New Move-In Families:

Families who have moved into our district may register their children for the 2022-23 school year at any time. Please complete this form to start the enrollment process.

Families who expect to move into the district for the start of the 2023-24 school year should not enroll at this time. Information regarding enrollment for next school year will be available later this spring.
