Superintendent's Message

Welcome to the 2023-24 school year at Southern Hancock! It’s going to be an extraordinary year. At Southern Hancock Schools, we strive for excellence. Our educators work diligently to prepare innovative lessons designed to meet today’s changing educational standards. This cutting-edge, personalized instruction will ensure our students are engaged in high-level learning.

As a district that offers 1:1 technology, we are proud to use that technology to enhance our curriculum and keep up with today’s changing educational landscape. We offer students the opportunity to learn and succeed in the environment in which they all live. All students will have access to an Apple Computing Device.

Every district has a story. Our story is that of excellence. We strive daily to fulfill our vision of “Achieving our Personal Best in Pursuit of Excellence.” At Southern Hancock Schools, we create extraordinary. Our students and teachers are encouraged and supported as they pursue excellence inside and outside of the classroom.

Our narrative is built around the spirit of community. With outstanding support from our staff, students, families, and community members, we are able to collaboratively work towards excellence.

We take pride in our commitment to educating the whole child. We focus on academic progress by collecting data and measuring student growth. Our educators look at each individual child and develop a plan based on that child’s unique needs. We measure success, not only by the results on standardized tests but also by student performance in the classroom, interaction with peers, and overall participation in school academics and activities.

It is important to help your child become involved in school. There are many ways to be involved at Southern Hancock Schools. We have numerous athletic teams and offer opportunities to be involved in the arts. We host academic teams and encourage philanthropy. Visit our Get Involved page to learn more.

Our priority is helping your child succeed. If you have not done so already, please be sure your child is registered through our PowerSchool Portal prior to the first day of school. This will ensure that you can monitor your child’s growth and performance throughout the school year. It will also ensure that you receive all communication from the school regarding your child.
